JOB DESCRIPTION |
As an Embedded System Engineer, your core responsibilities will include:
Your main responsibilities include: Developing, maintaining, and testing software components for experimental control, data acquisition, and automation. Developing and optimising the control software that drives our quantum hardware, ensuring microsecond-precision timing for data acquisition. Take an active part in microcontroller development and firmware integration. Design GUIs to control and monitor quantum hardware and visualize experimental data in real-time. Professionalize our codebase by implementing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control standards (Git). Supporting other teams by introducing and maintaining software best practices and development tools.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR |
Demonstrated project experience in embedded system development. BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field (Faculty of EEMCS). Proficiency in C/C++ (high-performance/systems) and Python (automation/backend/GUI). Hands-on experience with microcontroller (MCU) development and hardware communication interfaces (Serial, TCP/IP, USB, I2C/SPI) is a strong plus. Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab) and version control (Git). Strong communication skills and proficiency in English. FPGA development experience is a strong plus; candidates with solid FPGA background will be considered even if they do not meet all other requirements.
